Kargese

Trainer Willie Mullins and jockey Paul Townend have had a few winners over the week at Punchestown but look set to storm this contest with Kargese, who was only beaten by Sir Gino at Aintree and marginally by Majborough at Cheltenham Festival.

She's given 7lb from geldings like Nurburgring who is yet to show what he's fully capable of with two straight defeats as well, including a distant fourth to Majborough.

Bottler'secret is amongst the front in the betting but has yet to face a strong field such as this one and is tricky to back to know just how good he is, or whether he was flattered in victory last time out.

It makes a great double to add Kargese and Lossiemouth together, two trained by Mullins with Townend up, favourites in their races and set to rally home.

Beautiful Diamond & Seven Questions Each-way

Made all on debut in June 2023 but didn't quite get there to win on subsequent two races, but they were both top Group 2 contests and she was never far away.

She then made all once more in her latest outing at Ayr in listed company beating Purosangue by a length.

That form has worked out well too as that colt has gone on to win again and then place in a Group 3 this season.

Beautiful Diamond was that impressive on debut she was a big fancy for her two Group contests, she should be tough to stop as a three-year-old and be a popular grey filly.

Seven Questions appeals as an each-way play as he's been right up there in Group 2 meetings and even went off to Meydan for three races in 2024.

He placed just over two lengths off of Star Of Mystery and a respectable seventh in a Group 2 won by the same horse, looks a huge price on British form, with his Meydan voyage not damaging his claims for this season.

Rosallion & Haatem

It seems worth backing this race with a couple of each-way punts on the off chance the big favourite doesn't turn up or at the very least to get a big payout for placing.

Haatem had a busy season as a two-year-old with nine races winning twice but often showing a lot of potential in defeat.

It was partly why it was still quite a shock to see him win so comfortably in the Craven Stakes at Newmarket just a couple of weeks ago.

Reversing the form from the Dewhurst Stakes back in October with Eben Shaddad.

That horse finished well ahead in October but over three lengths away from Haatem on his first start over 1m, and winning in such a way over course and distance on seasonal debut suggests he's worth following in at such a big price.

He did finish nearly nine lengths away from the odds-on favourite but that turnaround in form makes him go close if he's still got room for further improvement.

Add to that Rosallion who will still get you profit for placing at around 11/2, who made a great statement on ability when beating Unquestionable at Longchamp in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.

That race has produced many subsequent 2000 Guineas winners, and he seems a massive price for this, with just City Of Troy making him that price as the odds-on favourite.

Maxi King

Won by five lengths on heavy ground at Ripon on his first run since April 2023.

Must be well weighted still on that evidence and should relish another step up in trip where he can exploit his low mark.

Sumo Sam

Sumo Sam, the grey filly, is said to be in great condition on what will be her seasonal debut.

She was beaten by a mile at Longchamp last time out in the Group 1 Prix de Royallieu for fillies and mares, but appeals greatly on British form with wins over One Evening at Doncaster in the Group 2 Park Hill and when a clear winner here in the Lillie Langtry winning by over eight lengths.

Course win speaks volumes on heavy ground which she gets again on Saturday.
