Thursday April 25th horse racing tips

  • WARWICK - 3.10: Pyffo 7/2 (1pt), 4.20: Take No Chances 4/1 each-way (1.5pts)
  • PERTH - 2.25: Garde Des Champs (1pt), 4.10: A Different Kind (2pts)
  • HUNTINGDON - 5.10: Mole Court 5/2 (1pt)

Pyffo

Pyffo beat the favourite Taras Hall last time out by a wide margin and has only been upped 4lb for that victory.

The gelding wasn't exactly perfect over every hurdle but was a great way to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking.

He's got decent form prior to that in hurdle races but may have just found his rhythm for the Jonjo O'Neill team, having previously been second to Lisnamult Lad on hurdle debut who went on to record a 131 rating.

He then faced The Jukebox Man, Golden De Coeur and Definite Call in what's turned out to be a very decent maiden back in November.

Take No Chances

Dan Skelton has had a fantastic season along with jockey Harry Skelton, as they've managed to be in contention for the champion trainer title for quite some time.

They had a plentiful Cheltenham Festival and it hasn't really stopped since.

The yard is great at producing top-class hurdlers and Take No Chances nearly got victory last time out but was pegged back when making a big mistake three hurdles from the finish.

And he was rallying when only just denied by the smallest of margins.

It was a taking run, so much so the handicapper has upped him 5lb for it and he comes into this handicap hurdle with a lot of potential and still well weighted.

Garde Des Champs

Garde Des Champs has been unfortunate since winning here over 2m in June 2023.

He changed trainers, from Keith Dalgleish to Lucinda Russell, but on reappearance here in August had to be pulled up and subsequently went for a wind op, his third in his career.

That seemed to do the trick though when going chasing for the first time and placing a prominent third of seven close behind Homme Public.

It wasn't to be on his next two chase appearances though and now he's 4lb lower when last seen over hurdles.

2m4f isn't an issue for this horse having started his career in Britain over this distance back in the 2021/22 season.

A Different Kind

Tipped back in July having gone second previously to the improving Al Zaraqaan.

He made all as the odds-on favourite on heavy ground at Uttoxeter, beating Silver Sheen by 12 lengths, making all.

He then won another three in a row and is bidding to make five from five.

Having gone up 20lb in the weights since that first victory last summer.

He's been waited with to come back for another summer jumps campaign it seems and was just such a strong winner in his last two outings that as a seven-year-old he might be even more exciting for Donald McCain under Brian Hughes.

Mole Court

Four wins and a second place from his six chase starts so far for Ben Pauling.

With his last run halting a run of four straight wins while also being upped in trip.

His victories over 2m4f were more taking than 3m and this return on his summer debut looks ideal with Ben Jones back in the saddle as he was when beating Tiger Orchid back in August.

Return to good ground is also advantageous and something they clearly avoid with this horse with another one going for a summer campaign to avoid the soft going.
