Much like any edition of the Grand National, whether it be Midlands, Aintree, Irish or Scottish - it often comes down to proven stamina.

The wide margin favourite at just 4/1 is the Willie Mullins-trained Nick Rockett.

With a rating of 146, he carries just 10-13 thanks to the top-rated Farouk D'alene carrying the most at 11-6.

Nick Rockett has won here before but has only had three chases to date in his seven races under rules.

He was fourth to Corbetts Cross at Fairyhouse in December where Three Card Brag came second and Monty's Star, third.

Nick Rockett was only a couple of lengths in touch of third place and that form has been boosted considerably since.

Corbetts Cross has gone on to win the Challenge Cup at Cheltenham Festival by a wide margin, over 3m6f and stamped his authority on the race with a decent turn of foot to come away with the win.

Monty's Star went on to beat Three Card Brag next time out and then place second to Fact To File in the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham Festival.

It's clear he's up there with some top horses as a result and may well be 4/1 for good reason, he could just prove he's very well handicapped.

He just didn't make it over 3m against American Mike on his latest outing though so there's still appeal each-way.

There's a few here that carry a very low weight due to their rating.

But they'll still have a lot to find to keep up with some of the top-rated horses - especially those who stay, powerfully so.

Grandero Bello placed just behind Thedevilscoachman the last time he was seen over 3m+.

And he's down 3lb since having taken on two tough races over 2m5f including in listed company last time out off the back of a 310 days break.

Probably needed that run and should be well-weighted here to come back with a big run after such a long time off the track.
